Outreach and Training
The Institute carries out advanced training and collaboration activities at different levels of education. In particular, the ICB is involved in training initiatives in bachelor, master and doctorate courses, post-university activities, and non-university higher education activities. This kind of task is regulated by agreements with national and foreign university departments, favors the association of university professors, welcomes students for their thesis internships as well as doctoral students.
In this context, there are many higher education projects in which the ICB is entailed through programs funded by MIUR.
The ICB partecipate salso in inactivities within the Regional Competence Centers projects, with the aim of systemically disseminating and transferring knowledge and technologies in favor of technological development, employment and enhancement of the territory at a regional and national level.

La strutturaThe ICB structure
The Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry (ICB) is characterized by a remarkable cultural homogeneity and an extensive territorial distribution: the Institute is based in Pozzuoli (Naples) but also has secondary offices in Catania, Padova and Sassari. Overall, the staff is made up of more than 200 units (CNR personnel: 115; over 100 external personnel). The headquarters of the ICB is in Pozzuoli (Naples, former Institute for the Chemistry of Molecules of Biological Interest, 51 units of CNR staff).
The secondary offices are at:
- Catania, former Institute for the Study of Natural Substances of Food and Chemical-Pharmaceutical Interest, 25 units of CNR personnel;
- Padova, former Center for the Study of Biopolymers, 5 units of CNR personnel;
- Sassari, former Institute for the Application of Advanced Chemical Techniques to Agrobiological Problems, 34 staff units.
